Job Title Privacy Consultant Position Overview The Privacy Consultant will support the agency's Cybersecurity Privacy team to promote an overall culture of privacy throughout the organization The Privacy Consultant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the protection of sensitive information and compliance with privacy regulations within the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This position requires a deep understanding of privacy laws, data protection principles, and security best practices. The Privacy Consultant will work closely with various departments to develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and provide expert advice on privacy-related matters. Work Location Washington D.C./Arlington, Virginia Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors
- Conduct documentation reviews of Privacy Impact Assessment/Privacy Threshold Analysis, SORNs, SHRs, ODPAs, and other forms and surveys
- Collaborate with other teams within the agency, including CSIRT to prevent and respond to incidents involving privacy data
- Support privacy topics and inputs for briefings to senior leaders including the SAOP, CPO, and CIO as a recognized expert on privacy
- Mentor and develop junior privacy analysts as well as provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the agency's Privacy Branch Chief
- Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
- Implement and oversee data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
