- Hold high ethical and professional standards.
- Be an appropriate role model for high school student-athletes.
- Hold high expectations and accountability both behaviorally and academically for all student-athletes and coaching staff.
- Ability to develop, articulate, and implement a vision for your individual discipline.
- Ability to work in a cooperative and harmonious manner in an educationally based, school-wide athletic program.
- Experience in the specific discipline at high school level preferred.
- Be relationship/process oriented.
- Be involved in fundraising for the program.
- Communicate effectively with head coach and athletic director.
- Be an advocate for the multi-sport athlete.
- Be a supporter of the head coach and the direction they are taking the program.
- Other duties as assigned by Head Coach & Athletic Director.
Newly hired coaches will be required to complete or show proof of the following certifications prior to employment:1. NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching (one-time requirement, previous completion will be recognized)2. Concussion in Sports (yearly)3. Heat Illness Prevention (every 4 years) District Background check4. Appearance and Performance Enhancing Drugs and Substances Training (every 4 years)5. Heads up certification (Yearly) (Football only)6. First Aid/CPR/AED (every 2 years) (paid coaches only)7. Bend La Pine Safe Schools Trainings (Yearly)
