The Center for Excellence in Disabilities at West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a (Hybrid/Part-time) Parent to Parent Training Coordinator

About the Opportunity

The Family-to-Family Health Information Center helps families of children and youth with special health care needs, and the professionals who serve them to navigate complex health care systems. In this role, employee will primarily support parents, youth, caregivers and families with children with special healthcare needs to grow their knowledge, skills and support systems.

What You'll Do

* Implement the national Parent to Parent USA peer support model for families of individuals with disabilities and special health care needs.

* Develop and organize a Family Training Series to improve access to health information, community supports, family leadership and advocacy, medical homes, family-centered care, and other important information.

* Organizes and/or participates in outreach activities including resource fairs and other community events, to inform target populations of the services available through the program

* Participates in other required meetings as appropriate.

* Reports activities to program manager and records data according to established program guidelines.

* Participates in program development and improvement through periodic reviews of policies, procedures, promotional materials, and other components of program effectiveness.

Work Hours: 20 Hours per week

* Bachelor's degree in human services or related field

* A minimum two (2) years of experience in the following:

* Working with individuals with varying disabilities

* Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.

* All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Experience leading in-person or virtual training classes

* Project and time management skills

* Capable of completing tasks on time with limited supervision

* Strong, clear verbal and written communication skills
