Jewish Family Service of the Desert is a nonprofit 501c3 organization providing mental health counseling, community outreach, and social services to the low-income community of the Coachella Valley.
The Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC) will be an experienced, communicative, and compassionate clinician who will support the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our clients. This role will work directly with clients, remotely and/or in-person, to actively listen to problems and concerns and suggest healthy and productive ways of coping with those issues. Alternative Week Schedule is offered for therapists working a 1.0 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) schedule (i.e., flex day off every other Friday).
Job Description:
Conducting regular appointments in compliance with current professional standards, implementing various treatments and protocols to provide clinical interventions that appropriately address client symptoms, and educating and involving family members (when appropriate and/or necessary) in the treatment process.
Recording and maintaining timely, accurate, and appropriate notes about client visits in the agency's electronic medical record; in compliance with HIPAA, maintaining the strictest confidentiality of every client situation.
Completing all required and requested paperwork necessary to obtain authorizations for service and other forms as assigned by the agency's Clinical Director and/or Business Administrator.
Completing all required payroll and human resource forms and processes.
Maintaining all required licenses and current malpractice insurance ($2,000,000/$4,000,000) on your next renewal.
Complying with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, and customer service standards.
Qualifications:
Bilingual speaker (English/Spanish) preferred.
Must be licensed in CA to perform counseling services.
Minimum of a Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work.
2+ years of clinical experience, ideally working directly with clients of all ages.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to actively listen.
Solid relationship-building capabilities.
A positive and compassionate attitude.
Keen attention to detail.
Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs.
Willingness to stay updated on new treatments, protocols, and licensure requirements within the field.
Passion for advancing the therapy field.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Compensation & Benefits:
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $34.65 - $45.44 per hour
Expected hours: 7.5 – 37.5 per week
1.0 FTE (work 37.5 hours/week) receive: every other Friday off (Alternative Work Schedule of 75 hours per 9 days); additional full-time stipend of $2.760/year; 100% health benefit coverage (HMO plan); three weeks accrued vacation time off plus 12 days accrued sick-leave time off; other time includes: holidays (11), floating holidays (3), mental health days (2), bereavement, and jury duty.
Employees who work over 22.5 hours/week (0.6 FTE), but less than 1.0 FTE, qualify for benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, Chiro, Acupuncture, vacation, sick leave) pro rata. Accrued time off banks are prorated as well, depending on FTE.
