Road & Rail ServicesMaterial HandlerBasic purpose of the position: Comply with government regulations (EPA, FRA and OSHA) and company recognized standards while safely performing the transfers of hazardous and non-hazardous products of railroad and trucking tank cars.We Offer:A Full Benefits package including Medical, Dental, 401KPaid Holidays and VacationsAn annual Steel Toe Boot allowanceAll Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) providedVeteran FriendlyA promote from within mentalityand much more!Responsibilities: Perform the duties associated with transfers of products to include, but not limited to:Climbing to heights of between 15 feet to 20 feet to perform inspectionsClimbing on to top of tank cars and tank trucks to inspect and seal trailersOperate various types of mechanical equipment - including small farm type tractors and golf cartsPerform preventive maintenance on equipment to change oil, starters, batteries, and clutchesPerform equipment maintenance and inspection on all assigned equipment and hand toolsPerform housekeeping duties as required by site managementComprehension and compliance with all requirements of safety audit to include but not limited to maintaining hazardous waste transfer, facility logs, and manifestsPrepare products for transferring, such as heating, sparging, and samplingEducation Requirements:High School education or abilityPhysical, Mental & Sensory Requirements:Ability to constantly work in an outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditionsAbility to frequently climb, using various types of ladders, to heights in excess of 20 feetConstantly required to use bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, climbing up/down ladders and walking motions on uneven surfaces throughout the entire work shiftAbility to occasionally walk 5 miles in a 3 hour period and occasionally walk up to 10 miles in a shiftAbility to frequently grip forces of up to 80lbs Ability to lift, pull, carry, push weights and forces of up to 60lbsAbility to stand, bend or climb for periods of time greater than 2 hours Must be able to hear and communicate, work or safety instructions spoken in a normal voiceMust be able to work extended hours and overtime as neededMust meet criteria for the use of respiratory protective equipmentMust be able to wear full body hazmat suit as requiredMust have auditory and visual acuity, tracking, inspecting Must be able to work independently Possess the equilibrium and ability to frequently cross 3-4 foot open spans at heights up to 20 feetMust be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective EquipmentExpectation:We expect all associates to be committed to a high standard of safety. The associate must be in compliance with all safety rules/policies and prepared to report safety and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory personnel. Individuals performing this function must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.
