We are currently looking to add an Estimator (On-Site).**The selected individual must live within commutable distance of our Watertown, NY location as this will be a on-site position. **Travel will be required for this role (10-15%).Job OverviewAs an Estimator with HI-Lite Airfield Services, you will be responsible for the estimation of the entire project, including reviewing bid documents and specifications, creating take-offs, quantifying, and qualifying material quantities and prices for a precise and accurate bid proposal. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in construction project management, and be organized, motivated, detail-oriented, and driven.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Review new projects posted for bidding
  • Obtains pricing for materials.
  • Obtains bids from subcontractors.
  • Generate and develop bids, and leads via electronic and printed sources
  • Perform accurate take-off of blueprints to confirm quantities
  • Job site inspections for estimates and bids when warranted
  • Organize and prepare pre-bid packages: secure plans, specifications, addendums, etc.
  • Review bid specifications/blueprints in order to prepare bid package requirements
  • Attend bid openings and pre-construction meetings when warranted
  • Maintain relations with all vendors, clients, engineers, architects, owners, etc.
  • Communicate bid information to the Project Manager

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Required/Preferred Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED diploma required
  • 2 or 4 year college degree a plus (preferably with a degree focused on Construction Management)
  • 1-3 years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements For Consideration
  • 10-year criminal background search.
  • Clean driving history

  • Valid Driver's License (REAL ID)
