Job Description: The Senior Engineer provides technical leadership of the team providing engineering and technical support to the Engineering and Planning Department (EPD) of the Ships Availability Planning and Engineering Center (SHAPEC). Acts as the Government customer's primary point of contact for engineering issues on ongoing projects. Required Skills and Experiences:
- Minimum Required:
- 15 years practical experience at a professional level, in responsible engineering duties relative to design, maintenance, operations, repair and testing of submarine systems. Experience must include performing complex engineering calculations such as heat transfer, fluid flow, piping stress, mechanical stress, etc.
- 10 years experience with the Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) system
Degree Requirements:
- Minimum Required:
- Four-year degree related to a professional engineering curriculum
- Equivalency may be achieved by education, training, and experience, provided the candidate can demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering. Evidence of equivalency must be in the form of at least one of the following:
- Professional Registration
- Written Test
- Specific Academic Courses
- Completion of a related curriculum supplemented by professional engineering experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Security clearance must be fully adjudicated and considered final .
