Position: Mental Health Clinician 0 to 5Accountability: Reports to the Mental Health Program Director and Clinical SupervisorHybrid Status: EE-2Job Status: Regular, Full Time, ExemptDate Revised: June 20240-5 MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN (ACMH)ALAMEDA COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMRole:Under the supervision of the AC Mental Health Program Director and the Clinical Supervisor, the Clinician has the primary responsibility for providing direct mental health services to children birth to five years old and their families. Services include: assessment; development of a family-centered treatment plan; providing developmentally appropriate mental health treatment; coordination of care with child welfare workers, parents, foster parents, and other collaterals; maintaining a written record of treatment, including initial assessments and treatment plans.Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.Duties and Responsibilities:Direct client care in-home or the community for children birth through five years and their familiesBe linguistically and culturally competentAttend appropriate meetings, which include weekly group supervision, staff meetings, training and supervisionObtain consent for treatment from the child welfare worker, where appropriateMonitor eligibility and obtain authorizations where appropriate.Through regularly scheduled sessions, provide psychotherapy, intensive clinical case management, and crisis intervention, to assigned children and families. Work with various modalities including individual, dyadic, and family therapy. Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans in collaboration with clients, caregivers, and other providers. Provide appropriate mental health services.Meet minimum productivity of 40% of service providers timeUse time-management skills and supervisory support to meet productivity, documentation, and timeliness requirements.Follow regulatory guidelines, mandated reporting, and program/agency protocols in performing dutiesAbide by all provisions of the ABW personnel manualPerform any other duties as directedQualifications:MSW, MA, PhD or PsyD from an accredited school of social work or psychology. Must be licensed or registered with BBS or BOP.Excellent clinical and writing skills.Direct experience working with diverse racial and ethnic populationsUnderstanding of basic theoretical and developmental principles of infant, early childhood, and family mental healthAbility to understand psychological assessment reports; psychological assessment experience a plus for psychologist applicantsMust have a car and good driving recordUnderstand and desire to work with a strength-based mental health approachKnowledge, understanding, and willingness to work with interdisciplinary approaches and partnershipsUnderstanding DSM, DC: 0-3R, and treatment plansAbility to work independently and to work as a member of a teamExcellent organizational, computer and communication skills.Ability to pass various background checks needed to work with childrenMust have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and maintain current auto insuranceWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office or community setting. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (subject to change, with supervisor approval, to meet the business needs.The pay range listed for this position may vary based on language proficiency. Compensation incentives are available for candidates who possess bilingual skills relevant to this roleTravelLocal travel to various worksites is required.Work Authorization/Security ClearanceEmployees must pass a Livescan and receive TB and health clearances prior to employment.
