Taber employees also enjoy great benefits which include medical, vision, dental, 401(k), short & long term disability, life insurance, paid holidays and vacation!2ND SHIFTSUMMARYThe Quality Inspector ensures acceptable extruded parts and finished products by inspecting and testing to the required standards, drawings, specifications, and process instructions. The inspector will make suggestions and assist the Production Team in identifying issues and preventing recurrence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow safe work procedures
  • Perform dimensional checks on extruded parts at press or finishing department to ensure they are within tolerance per specifications; and work with press crew or supervisor in correcting out of tolerance situations
  • Verifies cut lengths, squareness, and perpendicularity are correct at saw operations
  • Perform etch and swage tests
  • Prepare and maintain quality system records, including inventory status (holds, scrap, etc.)
  • Works with control of non-conforming products, corrective and preventive actions, inspection status
  • Perform pre-stretch as required
  • Checks parts being prepared for shipment to ensure they are packaged correctly
  • Prepare or test tensile specimens
  • Supports and sustains the plant 5S system
  • Assists in other functions as needed by shift supervisor or quality manager as previously trained

Individual is familiar with lockout/tagout and other safety related items associated with this job title. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
