Project Coordinator, New York City Teens Connection

The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. In partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives to advance community health throughout the city.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

New York City Teens Connection (NYCTC) is an adolescent sexual health program of DOHMH, engaging youth, parents, community-based organizations, schools, clinics, and citywide government agencies to improve adolescent sexual health.

NYCTC works through partnerships to bring evidence-based sexual health education programs and clinic linkages to young people ages 11-20 across several priority neighborhoods.

POSITION OVERVIEW

New York City Teens Connection (NYCTC) offers an exciting opportunity for a public health professional to engage with youth-serving professionals, teens, parents, community leaders, clinical services providers, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will display self-motivation, accuracy, efficiency, and intellectual curiosity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The New York City Teens Connection Project Coordinator will:

  • Schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings among the team and senior leadership.
  • Take detailed notes at meetings and coordinate responses to identified follow-up items.
  • Purchase supplies and materials and coordinate their distribution to partner sites.
  • Draft purchase orders, collect invoices, and prepare payment information for review and approval.
  • Maintain records of all submitted purchase orders, invoices, and reimbursements.
  • Accompany the Project Director on some meetings and site visits.
  • Represent the program to internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Support the Project Director and program staff on an ongoing basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduation or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with good follow-through to complete assignments.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of personalities.
  • Excellence in writing, reporting, and English composition.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software applications.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the city.

SALARY

Salary range is $55,000 to $60,000.

WORK SCHEDULE

8:00am – 4:00pm or 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. Telework schedule available after the probationary period.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT

You must live in the New York City Tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) to be considered for a position at FPHNYC.
