The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.Status: Full Time RegularShift: DAY SHIFTDepartment: Hospitalist ServicesPosition SummarySummary:The Medical Scribe is responsible for relieving a physician of their clerical duties, thereby allowing a physician to focus their attention on providing the best care to the patient. They are responsible for locating and obtaining a patient's medical history, documenting dictated notes during a patient visit on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), facilitating diagnostic test, all while providing unparalleled customer service to our patients.Education Required Must complete in-house orientation program High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. Completed Anatomy and Physiology course work.Experience And Skills Excellent interpersonal skills Speaks, reads and writes English Fluency in a second language preferred. Two years' experience preferred with at least one year of experience/proficiency with EMR. Expert knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology. Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner. Computer and typing skills are required - minimum of 45 wpm. Flexible with full-time work schedule including weekends. Passion for helping others in an urgent care environment. High attention to detail and being able to work in a team environment.License/Certifications Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant Program (CMA) preferred OR Medical Scribe Certification by the American College of Clinical Information Managers (ACCIM) preferred OR Completion of 2-year Medical Billing and Coding Program preferred. Working Conditions Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn Frequently required to stand, sit, and walk. Frequent use of hands to type, write with a pen, handle, or feel. Required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
