The region is widely known as an outdoor recreational paradise for campers, boaters, cyclists, climbers, cavers and hikers, all this while being conveniently located within two hours of Atlanta, Nashville and Knoxville.Summary:The 1955 Manager will serve to initiate vision and shepherd the execution of high visibility, high leverage projects and public functions related to Covenant College's 1955 donor development fundraising plan.Responsibilities:* Coordinate and execute the annual 1955 donor development dinner.* Create a schedule/timeline for implementing the events leading up to the annual August event.* Coordinate with the Director of Constituent Relations, other event stakeholders and the event planning team as well as other staff, faculty and students enlisted to assist with the event.* Coordinate all administrative functions for the event including managing the event budget.* Oversee the day-of event execution, ensuring arrangements are within the scope of the vision for the event.* Leading up to the day, and day-of event, coordinate all details and be on-site before, during, and after the event.* Contract with local vendors and service providers to secure supplies, food and other resources, as needed.* After the event, ensure that all loose ends have been taken care of, all bills are paid, expenses are submitted to the College, etc.* Assist the Director of Constituent Relations with the strategy and planning for the 1955 donor development program and membership.* Identify, manage, and move a targeted caseload of assigned individuals and organizations located in the greater Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain areas through the various stages of donor commitment and development goals established in the 1955 advancement plan.* Work with the Director of Constituent Relations and the Director of Development Operations to cultivate this targeted donor group utilizing tools and resources used by the development team for their advancement goals (Contact Reports/ Updates, request letters, proposals and follow-up). Observe and strategize work around critical deadlines for the 1955 program. Performance for this component of the job may be measured through the Matrix System.* Provide counsel for planning and execution of other development team-led projects and events as assigned by the Director of Constituent Services or Vice President of Development, as time, budget and availability allows.* Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Development.Education / Experience Requirements:* Bachelor's degree.* At least three (3) years experience serving with demonstrated success in a project, major event or conference management role.* Advanced organizational skills.* Evaluative and discernment skills* Good listening and communication skills.* Demonstrated success with planning and executing high leverage events.Education / Experience Preferences:* Experience with Google office productivity software.* Experience working in development / donor relations.* Experience working in a not-for-profit and/or higher education work environment.Additional Eligibility Requirements:* An acceptance of, and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.* An understanding of the mission and purpose of Covenant College.* Must be able to assent to Covenant College's Staff CommitmentsPhysical Work Environment:* This role is expected to be performed on campus unless otherwise directed or arranged for and operates primarily in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other job-related technology.* There is a mix of standing and sitting for this particular role, but primarily stationary for most of the workday.* Classified as light, occasional lifting or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) up to 10 lbs.* Expressing or exchanging ideas and conversation by means of the spoken word; needs to be fluent and conversant using the English language.* Generally, college hours of operation for full-time staff are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
