Summary:The Welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. The welder will be required to complete small/simple fabrications and large complex fabrications to specifications. The Welder is required to comply with all MPI policies.Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and comprehend product blueprints and layouts to accurately fit structural parts together in shop in preparation to weldingUnderstand American Welding Society standard symbolsPlan details of work order procedures; gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the jobLay out guidelines or marks on metal parts and cut metal with a cutting torchRepairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkagePrepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be weldedWeld metal structural components together in the fabrication of stainless steel, aluminum, and other structuresPerform first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by RMF standardsAdjust welding equipment to its prescribed settingsUtilize safety devices and wear all mandatory personal protective safety equipmentOperates power toolsOperate forklift if needed once certifiedChange gas tanks as neededPerform simple maintenance repairs as requiredNotifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discoveredAll other duties assignedRequired Qualifications:Experience:1 year of relevant experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:
