MATERIAL HANDLER / Forklift Driver!! - Chicago, IL Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with a prominent client in Chicago and Palatine within the manufacturing industry. We are looking for a friendly passionate person to join a great team as a Material Handler. Material Handler --- MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL FROM CHICAGO TO ANOTHER LOCATION IN PALATINE AS NEEDED Worksite Address: 6601 N Ridge Blvd, Chicago, IL Worksite Address: Palatine - 200 Sellstrom Dr, Palatine, IL Peoplelink, in partnership with a National Waste & Material Management company, is seeking professional personnel to assist with material handling and site transport of regulated and non-regulated waste streams and industrial services. The FORKLFIT DRIVER will assist with loading material from stationed satellite and transporting material to centralized accumulation. The Forklift Driver will then sort and bale material and load into a staged semi-trailer. This is a FIRST SHIFT position with competitive PAY RATE of $23/hr.
- Monday - Friday (28 to 32 hrs)
- Must be flexible form 7am to 3:30pm or 8am to 4:30pm
- Stand up/sit down experience (CURRENTLY CERTIFIED)
- Pictures attached (Certified Forklift 1 - 5)
- Pallets may arrive in trucks
- Pallets may need to be unloaded from trucks and put into staging area
- Forklift driver stacks boxes, 3 pallets high, moves them into baling area
- General laborer puts scrap into baler
- Once bales are made, forklift driver repalletizes the bales and takes away for loading back into shipping container
Material Handler Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Receive, unload, and store incoming materials, ensuring proper handling and storage procedures are followed to prevent damage or loss.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, inventory checks, and data entry into inventory management systems.
- Order Picking: Fulfill orders by accurately picking, packing, and preparing materials for shipment according to AllSource Environmental' s requirements and shipping schedules.
- Material Movement: Use forklifts, pallet jacks, tugger trucks, and other equipment to safely transport materials within the warehouse or distribution center.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload trucks, containers, and other vehicles, ensuring that shipments are properly secured and handled to prevent damage.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies, and report any issues to supervisors for resolution.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe operating practices for equipment, and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas, and shipping/receiving areas, to ensure safety and efficiency. Material Handler Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Forklift Certification; prior experience with Hazardous Material a PLUS
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
