Sorter 1st shift 6am - 3:30pm Pay-rate: 18.00 A quality sorter, also known as a production sorter, is responsible for organizing, categorizing, and separating products and materials in a warehouse or production environment . They may also program and operate automated sorting equipment. Other duties include:
- Monitoring and rejecting defective items
- Maintaining a clean and organized production area
- Assisting in loading and unloading items
- Performing repairs on malfunctioning equipment
- Examining inventories requesting necessary supplies
- Preparing and maintaining production records and documentation
- Inspecting, packing, and labeling products
- Preparing final packaged goods for shipment
Quality sorters need to have excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills, as well as in-depth product knowledge to classify items accordingly. They also need to be able to follow detailed instructions, remain organized and focused in a fast-paced environment, and have good physical stamina and manual dexterity. Requirements for quality sorters include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
