KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining the reliability of dust handling equipment such as receiver/filters, silos, piping, transfer systems, and wood grinders.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks that involve cleaning, lubricating, and inspection of equipment.
- At an advanced level; troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, & electrical systems on all dust system equipment utilizing electrical prints & multi-meter and capable of utilizing notebook PC and programming software.
- When a mechanical component fails - such as a gearbox, pump, or fan - demonstrates the ability to specify a substitute component and successfully modify the design to restore functionality.
- Work outside year-round in all weather conditions.
- Climb ladders and steps every day with some heavy lifting required.
- Develop the skill necessary to safely operate various types of man-lifts.
- Be willing to work overtime on Saturdays and holidays, when production is shutdown, to perform work on dust system equipment.
- Develop a high level of understanding of the fire prevention, explosion suppression and energy reduction (Eco Gate) systems associated with the dust handling equipment.
- Utilize the CMMS to: create, maintain, and close work orders and time cards; research and/or order parts; document work order status and/or other pertinent information.
- Review work order backlog and assist with the prioritization and scheduling of work.
- Provide technical training/assistance to others.
- Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school education with electrical and mechanical experience.
- Advanced mechanical skills.
- Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Self-motivated and self-directed to work efficiently without close supervision.
- Must be comfortable working above ground at various heights.
- Excellent attendance record.
PAY SUMMARY:Expected Offer: $22.50 - $27.50/hour. Actual pay will be based on relevant experience and skills.
