Job Summary:

The Secondary Shift Leader provides leadership and direction of work for a production team in our post machining (Secondary) operations focused on wash and thermal deburr of production parts. This is an important step in the manufacturing process to ensure that parts are processed correctly to move to the next phase of the production operation. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team in a manufacturing setting on the shop floor.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides technical leadership:

  • Plan daily goals for the team, guiding them to work on the appropriate tasks.
  • Processes and plans for new jobs.
  • Upholds quality and performance standards.
  • Makes sure that procedures are followed.
  • Trains team members.

Provides team leadership:

  • Give performance feedback positive reinforcement and constructive input.
  • Motivate the team to achieve goals.
  • Promotes teamwork between all three shifts.
  • Makes sure the team gets what they need from the team leader.
  • Helps resolve issues on the shift, and helps others resolve issues with other team members.

Communication:

  • Maintain awareness of what is happening on the shift in all areas.
  • Communicate with the shift, providing an update at the beginning of the shift to team members.
  • Serves as a point person, communicating with the team leader and reporting shift performance.
  • Answers questions and solves problems that the team can't resolve themselves.
  • Sets standard for work ethic, performance, quality, and teamwork.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma.
  • Experience performing duties within Daman Products.
  • Experience using basic computer programs like Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Schedule System.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, and talk to hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend and stoop, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
