Scope of Role

The Warehouse Associate position is generally responsible for safely and accurately moving, transporting, coordinating and/or expediting flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within the Boston Gear facility with the objective of meeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pick material and deliver to appropriate area(s)
  • Follow daily priorities and correct procedures for various work assignments, to include but not limited to: LTL and small parcel (UPS/FedEx/BAX/DHL) picking & shipping, receiving, gear rack assembly, small parts bagging, and end of line.
  • Identify and address quality concerns or defects that may develop from the Warehouse/Distribution area
  • Responsible for proper care of powered industrial equipment
  • Maintain 5S to ensure the work area is kept clean and orderly at all times
  • Operate forklift/powered vehicle in a safe manner at all times
  • May enter inventory transactions into computer system to update receipts, production orders, shipments and inventory.
  • May create BOL, shipping documents and labels for shipments.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Basic proficiency with computers, including the ability to accurately enter and search for data
  • Proficient in English language skills, including effective verbal and written communication
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends (e.g. during physical inventory), as required

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency from an accredited institution is desired.

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

Physical Demands: Potential physical demands include, but are not limited to: frequent walking, standing, twisting, carrying and handling; regular bending, stooping and kneeling; regular lifting up to 50 lbs.; occasional climbing, pushing and pulling.Potential sensory demands include but are not limited to: hearing and seeing.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Environment: Majority of time is spent in a manufacturing production environment with some (but not all) climate-controlled areas. Personal protective safety equipment must be worn, and proper safety precautions must be observed. Potential exposure may include, but is not limited to: solvents, dusts, noise, heat, outside weather conditions, cramped spaces, and building construction areas.
