Date Revised: June 24, 2024 Primary Purpose: The digital media coordinator is primarily responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating the district website, including production of web content in a manner that is appealing to target audiences and enhances brand awareness. Implementation and support for social media and communication initiatives is also integral to the role, integrating emerging technologies as appropriate to further strengthen family and community engagement by strategically leveraging all aspects of social/digital media marketing and communication. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field Special Knowledge/Skills: Excellent writing, proofreading, editing (photo/video/text) skills Knowledge of web design, web development, and content management systems Ability to detect, analyze and solve technical problems within the district and campus websites Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge Knowledge of online marketing and understanding of major marketing channels Positive attitude, detail, and customer oriented with multitasking and organizational ability Ability to meet established deadlines Strong organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills Understanding of photography and design principles Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) Portfolio of strong creative work Experience: One to three years of related experience in website management Social media and marketing/content development experience preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: Web Administration
  • Maintain the district website technical functions and quality control within the content management system.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to evaluate and implement tools and methods to deploy timely district information, including brand integration, social media and emerging technologies.
  • Analyze accessibility on campus and district sites and provide support in creating accessible content.
  • Publications and Information Services
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Generate, edit, publish and share content (original text, images, video) that builds meaningful connections and encourages families and community members to take action.
  • Create photo and video content for social media and website.
  • Optimize pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the district's social content and ensure all platforms reflect a consistent message.
  • Moderate user-generated content.
  • Create calendars for upcoming posts, events, and campaigns.
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information.
  • Staff Development
  • Work with campus representatives to provide content for use on campus platforms/applications and training on digital media management best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments and campuses to manage reputation, communicate goals and highlight innovative classroom instruction and curriculum.
  • Support departments and campuses with basic instruction on setting up and managing school and teacher pages.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
