RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS The teacher is responsible for the preparation, organization, and management of the classroom with their curricular expertise. The expectation of a Bishop McNamara faculty member would include the development of daily, unit, and yearly instructional goals, objectives, and plans. As a member of the Bishop McNamara faculty, the teacher will facilitate student learning and achievement by using a variety of instructional strategies to meet Diocesan, state, and college readiness benchmarks. Excellent communication and classroom management skills are essential to success in the position. QUALIFICATIONS The candidate must hold minimally a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, be qualified to teach within their curricular expertise at the secondary level, and hold a valid Illinois Professional Education License (PEL) with Physical Education and Health endorsement(s). Being qualified in another discipline either within the same curricular department or another curricular department would classify the candidate as a preferred candidate. Previous experience in teaching Physical Education/Health is preferred but not required.
