Job Summary
he University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Nigel Mascot Student Position - Institutional Student Worker. This role is responsible for portraying the Nigel suit in accordance with training from the Sport Clubs/Teams Coordinator. They are responsible for attending events assigned to them (such as Basketball Games, UNG Campus Events, UNG Partner events and outside reservations, etc.) as directed by the Sport Clubs/Teams Coordinator. Nigel will embody the Nighthawk spirit and conceal their identity from the public during all appearances. This position will require travel to all 5 campuses and other locations as requested.
Responsibilities
* Attend required events during the Athletic season.
* Communicate with Sport Clubs/Teams Coordinator availability when appearance requests are submitted.
* Travel to requested appearances.
* Must be willing to learn and implement Mascot mechanics and training.
* Coordinate content during appearances with handlers for our Social Media team that will highlight Nigel and the Nighthawk Spirit.
* Assist Sport Clubs/Teams Coordinator with Nigel marketing and other on campus tabiling events to recruit new talent.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
* Must have some mascot knowledge and be willing to learn new mascot trends and mechanics.
* Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Required Qualifications
* Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
* Must hold a valid driver's license.
