Description: Night Custodian Supervisor Terms of Employment - 12 Month Employee Reports to: Chief Custodian Salary: Current custodial salary schedule Primary Function: Supervise custodial duties that have been assigned by the Chief Custodian Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively.
- Ability to do basic computation.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
- Must have knowledge of duties and responsibilities of Custodial staff.
- Demonstrate regularity in attendance and promptness in reporting.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform his/her tasks independently with a minimum of supervision.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Supervises all custodians assigned to him/her on the shift and during emergencies such as snow removal, storm clean-up, etc.
- Demonstrates knowledge of general custodial responsibilities
- Maintains a written custodial and housecleaning schedule
- Makes inspections to ensure that custodial schedules are performed
- Trains all new custodians under his/her supervision
- Performs general custodial/preventative maintenance responsibilities as circumstances require by size of the building
- Assist with annual evaluations of all custodians for whom they are assigned
- Keeps a running inventory of custodial supplies and submits requisitions to the proper designation
- Demonstrates the ability to read operating instructions, write reports, and maintain written records
- Should be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Assumes the responsibility for closing the building each school day
- Works cooperatively with the Chief and other custodial staff
- Demonstrates regularity in attendance and promptness in reporting
- Demonstrates the ability to perform his/her tasks independently
- Follows all District and Building safety regulations
- Communicates with the Chief custodian on a daily basis
- Assists in the delivery of bulk materials to designated areas
- Responsible for making sure that outside playing fields are maintained
- Responsible for snow removal or any weather-related conditions
- Performs related work as assigned by the immediate supervisor that falls under the duties of Night Supervisor
