Position Type: Curriculum and InstructionDate Posted: 9/2/2024Location: Bethune-Bowman ElementaryDate Available: when filledClosing Date: until filled OBJECTIVE Position supports the regular education curriculum and works collaboratively with other personnel to expand student development of appropriate skills, knowledge, and interests in Math. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Instructs students through reading groups in accordance to division expectations. 2. Completes all requirements as a school division Title I, Part A teacher (if applicable). 3. Develops and delivers lesson plans appropriate to the needs and abilities of assigned students. 4. Meets the needs of identified students through a variety of co-teaching models and small group instruction. 5. Uses a variety of instructional techniques and math materials appropriate for the age and skill level of students. 6. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and creates a safe, orderly and effective environment for learning. 7. Participates in conferences as requested to report student progress. 8. Assists with the screening and evaluation of students in math. 9. Collaborates with others to identify instructional needs and develop and deliver professional development. 10. Participates in pre-child study and child study process. 11. Participates in diagnostic instructional (DI) conferences. 12. Maintains thorough records for assigned student. 13. Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities. 14. All other duties as assigned by administrator. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Qualifications Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, English, middle level Math, Math or a related area from an accredited university
Certification:
- Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate for content area as required by the South Carolina Department of Education
Requirements:
- Valid South Carolina Drivers' License
- Literate in a language other than English (Preferred), but not required
- Must have knowledge of administering assessments and analyzing data to drive intervention and instruction.

Working Conditions: School or office environment with limited exposure to environmental conditions. Routine local travel required; occasional overnight travel required. Requires the ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require considerable attention and meeting deadlines.
