JOB DESCRIPTION: CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE INSTRUCTOR (Part-Time)SALARY SCHEDULE: ADJUNCT - $35-$40 PER HOURDEPARTMENT: MDTC - ADULT CAREER DEVELOPMENTFLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPTSAFETY-SENSITIVE: YESPOSITION SUMMARY:MDTC's ACD department offers a short-term LTCNA (Long Term Care Nurse Aid) course in the evenings 2-4 times a year. The course is offered in a hybrid format where in-person instruction takes place one night a week for 8 weeks along with a 16 hour clinical rotation. This position works closely with the LTCNA Supervisor and program Coordinator to make sure students are properly taught the required skills necessary for LTCNA licensure. The LTCNA Instructor provides hands-on skills training, administers weekly exams, keeps track of students' grades and attends the students' clinical rotation.Clinical Lab Instruction: Lab equipment includes medical mannequins, hospital beds, night stands, over the bed tables, draw curtains, mechanical lift and wheelchairs. Students will be taught the State clinical standards in preparation for the State Clinical test.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:* Ability to perform each essential duty* Must be flexible to drive to various clinical locations in the OKC area* Must be a licensed LPN or RN in the State of Oklahoma with no abuse notations.* Must have an LTC Certification to teach CNA* Must have at least 2 years of Long Term Care experience. Home Health experience appreciated but not required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Teach agreed upon curriculum according to course objectives in a manner that meets requirements for certification and/or client expectations and work cooperatively with the daytime instructors when classroom/lab equipment is shared.* Develop course content and other support materials that reflect the course objectives jointly identified and approved by the (ACD) Adult Career Development Director.* Complete and return appropriate paperwork (including class rosters, evaluations, certificates and contracts) in a timely manner to the ACD Director.* Provide immediate notification to the evening supervisor of any accident or special incident and complete a report prior to leaving the building and keep informed of and observe all rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the school district and administration, including safety and emergency procedures.* Dress appropriately and professionally and to behave in a responsible and professional manner that will reflect positively on the individual, the class and MDTC.* Become familiar with evacuation procedures for fire or severe weather and guides students to the designated areas in the event of an emergency.* Assist (ACD) Director with revision and design of training curriculum and methods to improve effectiveness.* Complete student evaluations, all paperwork, and necessary reports and maintain training aides in good working condition.* Be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs as needed.* Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
