Plan a two week long interdisciplinary course on a topic relating to the theme of the current MGS year prior to consideration for employment. Facilitate the three hour course, Monday-Friday, during the program. Provide supervision of Scholars during events at the program. Participate in seminars, recreation, and other scheduled activities. Be a team player and independent thinker. Be responsible. Facilitate small groups and communicating one on one. Availability for the entire program. Teach and facilitate 14 - 20 gifted high school students*Course Instructors will be working from May 31 - June 14, 2024.Note: May 31 will be a mandatory training day.Minimum Qualifications Be at least 21 years of age. Have a Bachelors Degree or similar experience. Availability for the entire program. Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication Ability to teach and facilitate 14 - 20 gifted high school students Be comfortable working with teenagers. Be well organized. Be comfortable facilitating small groups and communicating one on one. Preference will be provided to courses that include a service learning component addressing a need in the state of MS.Job Description Summary Faculty who are selected will be required to teach on their proposed topic Monday through Friday for the 2-week program, and to participate in faculty/student seminars, recreation, and other scheduled activities.MGS courses are relatively in-depth, content-based studies and should reflect interdisciplinary relationships.
