The Birmingham Barons are looking for an enthusiastic Fan Experience Intern to help elevate and improve our game day entertainment and operations. This Intern assists the Marketing Director and Game Day Entertainment Coordinator with the day-to-day operation of promotions. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Department: MarketingReports To: Marketing DirectorEmployee Type: SeasonalStatus Type: Full-TimeFLSA: Non-ExemptCompensation: Hourly RateRate Range: $7.25/hourResponsibilities•Assist in creating routines for promotional entertainment•Distribute promotional items designed to help increase fan spirit and attendance at games•Occasional mascot/player appearances, participation in promotions including on-field activities and enter/exit gate sampling, and distribution of marketing material.•Perform on the dugout during the 7th inning stretch•Personally interact with fans and patrons you encounter•Running on-field promotions during games, including making sure mascots, props, costumes and power team are in the proper places at the proper time•Collaborate with the group sales department to facilitate group related promotions and fan engagement.•Assisting with tarp pulls when necessary•Representing organization in the community•Delivering pocket schedules•Hanging sponsor banners and preparing giveaway items•Keeping upbeat atmosphere before, during and after games•Organizing special events such as sponsor picnics & batting practice, the golf tournament, etc.•Setting up concourse display tables•Other duties as assignedQualifications:•Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks•Ability to work effectively in a team environment•Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays•Must be able to problem solve quickly, work efficiently in an intense environment•Previous sports experience a plus, but not required•Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented•Some heavy lifting is required•Ability to work in a high paced environment•Electronic and computer proficiency•Excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness•High attention to detail•Strong communication and problem-solving skillsGeneral Physical Requirements:•Ability to lift 25 lbs up to 50 lbs•Ability to stand for up to 5+ hours during a game•Ability to work long hours, weekends & holidays•Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including but not limited to rain and heatCompany Description:The Birmingham Barons are the proud Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
