This project is intended to give you the opportunity to design and build something that will be implemented into the production line. Progress will be monitored by your mentor and other engineers in design review settings. Portions of this project are to be completed individually as well as with other Ruger employees. Examples of past intern projects are: inline gages used in production, automatic part marking machine for part traceability in production, automatic oiler used for rust prevention in assembly, tool cost savings for a product line, laser marking station for gages in the facility. Interns will also spend some days shadowing their mentor in supporting production, attending design reviews, new product development meetings, interacting with outside suppliers, planning product flow and improvements to manufacturing. You will also have the opportunity to work directly with our production associates to learn how our manufacturing method works in real time. As an intern or engineer we try to cultivate a Servant Leader atmosphere as our role is to solve problems and provide solutions to the manufacturing line associates to make their job function smoothly.
