Job DescriptionResponsibilities: Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor of the Integrated Treatment and Recovery Services (ITRS) Program, provides an enhanced level of support for persons with substance use disorders. This role engages in supportive services which include but are not limited to; supporting access and transition between service levels and community supports. The Recovery Coach will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to individuals seeking recovery support in order to help access services and supports, prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. This position works collaboratively with the Ingham County Health Department (ICHD) Non-Fatal Overdose Response Team as well as other ICHD programming, and would be responsible to represent ITRS programming in meeting formats. This position is responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI's mission, policies and procedures. Requirements: Possession of high school diploma or G.E.D is required. Must have two continuous years in recovery from addiction(s) with experience navigating treatment services and/or prevention; experience receiving publicly funded treatment and recovery services for addiction. Two years of experience interacting with persons with substance use disorder required. Must possess the MDHHS Peer Recovery Coach certification and the MCBAP Certified Peer Recovery Mentor certification or must become certified within a maximum of one (1) year from date of hire or change in regulation. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both orally and in writing is required. Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required. Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police Clearance, county jail background check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check, verification of an acceptable work history and an acceptable Michigan driving record.
