24-25 - West - Girls Track & Field Head CoachWest High$2,964.00 - 6,072.00 Annual SalaryPosition Title: Head Gymnastics CoachDepartment: West High School Athletics DepartmentReports to: West High School Director of Athletics and OperationsPurpose of Position: The Head Gymnastics Coach will help in supervising and instructing the high school gymnastics team of assignment, which is important to the student-athletes' success in reaching their full potential in the classroom and on the field.Supervisory Responsibilities:Supervise the Gymnastics program coaching staff including Assistant/JV/Freshman coaches. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee training of gymnasts in conjunction with the other coaches.
  • Develop training plans for gymnasts in conjunction with the other coaches.
  • overseeing the running of specific events as needed at home games.
  • Contribute to game line-up planning with other coaches.
  • Attend and coach at all practices.
  • Attend and coach at all meets.
  • Assist other coaches in monitoring team members' practice attendance, school attendance, meet attendance and grades
  • enforcing team policies.
  • Responsible for providing kids feedback about their performance related to their disposition, behavior and team skills.
  • Successful completion of the required WIAA Rules exam for gymnastics by the 2023/24 winter sports season.

  • Successful completion of an approved coach's education course (ASEP) or the ability to complete the course prior to the second season of coaching if no teaching license.
  • Current certification or must obtain within one month of employment and maintain CPR/AED certification from a national certifying organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide positive development and motivation of student-athletes.
  • Strong gymnastics background with competitive experience at the High School Level.
  • Knowledge of gymnastics skills, development, and spotting techniques.
  • Organizational skills relating to gymnastics.
  • Skill in planning progressive conditioning and developmental gymnastics program.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain communication with parents.
  • Commitment to year-round personal knowledge enhancement as a means for continuous program improvement.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other staff.
  • Preferred: Valid teaching license
Length of Work:WIAA 2024/25 Winter Sports SeasonWorking Conditions:Will be expected to work in evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements:The job will require you to stand for extended periods of time, while coaching at practices and games.
