SUMMARY: Assist with the set-up, make ready, operation, and maintaining of the web offset printing press. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set ink with an emphasis on 4/Color process
- Assist in the set-up and operation of the combination folders
- Assist with job preparation at the Press:
- Hang plates
- Wash up
- Print registration
- Make readies on the Stacker and Rollstands
- Utilize Closed Loop Color System to manage color, print registration and Process Manager.
- May handle hazardous materials
- Maintain and get color up to job specifications.
- Adjust the press, washes press and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
- Assist with the set up or operation of auxiliary equipment, such as folding, plate-making, or laminating machines.
- Keeps daily time, production, and material usage reports.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Possess the ability to perform basic math functions.

- Able to follow instructions and make decisions.
- Willing to work overtime when needed.
- The ability to work 10 to 12 hour shifts.
PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have some printing experience.
- Minimum 1-year Press Room experience.
- Ability to interpret and utilize various units of measure and their conversions.
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude.
- The ability to use logical and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of standing while setting up and operating equipment.
- Continuously bending, twisting, kneeling, and squatting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
