2. JOB SUMMARY The Finishing Press Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of finishing presses according to the finishing specifications and customer requirements.
3. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS · Performs routine finishing procedures according to job ticket specifications. · Reviews orders and verifies appropriate substrates, coatings and cutting tools are utilized as specified. · Completes all start-up checks, verifies, and obtains start approval. · Closes out job by verifying end results and completing necessary paperwork. · Performs technical adjustments and maintenance of the finishing press. · Adheres to procedures performing quality inspections, visual discrimination, and ensuring label quality. · Recognizes when routine adjustments are necessary, catching errors at the earliest possible stage to minimize production reworks. · Troubleshoots machine when it is not performing to standards. · Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
4. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS · Read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and work instructions. · Read and comprehend measurements on a ruler. · Knowledge of color theory and ability to make adjustments and color corrections while operating equipment.
5. ABILITIES REQUIRED · Physical strength and stamina · Excellent organizational & basic math skills · Ability to work with others in a deadline driven environment. · Basic computer skills including email and word processing. · Understanding the basic process of digital printing. · Experience in operating mechanical/electromechanical equipment. · Solid verbal and written communications skills with strong ability to follow written or verbal instructions. · Capable of devising multiple alternative solutions based on limited assumptions and information.
