Work to tolerances as specified in blue print, drawing, model or other design specification document or file. Methods to achieve final machined part may specify speed, feed, cuts, tooling, and procedure to follow. Perform similar or incidental work of comparable or lower level as required. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assignedM-F 3:30pm - 12:00am plus overtimeThis job includes $1.00 shift differentialEssential ResponsibilitiesTasks: Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometer or Vernier calipers. Machine parts to specifications. Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. Measure, examine, or gauge completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers. Measure dimensions of completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications. Calculate dimensions of work pieces, products, or equipment. Adjust and/or edit programs on CNC equipment. May train new employees. Follow relevant work instructions and/or SOP. May be required to operate industrial trucks (fork trucks, lift trucks, etc.)Technology Skills: Uses the appropriate electronic or manual system to perform the work of the job or department. May use computer systems to enroll in benefits and interact with other company data systems.Knowledge: Reading, writing, speaking, comprehension and computer skills in the English language, typically developed through high school education or equivalent, with the ability to communicate effectively via all these modes. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing good customer services. This includes meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Mathematics- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications. Must be able to comprehend the meaning of the calculation. Mechanical- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and general maintenance. Production and Processing- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.Position RequirementsSkills/Abilities: Operation Monitoring- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Critical Thinking- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Operation and Control- Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Coordination- Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.Physical Abilities: Arm-Hand Steadiness- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. Manual Dexterity- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Control Precision- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. Finger Dexterity- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. Near Vision- The ability to see details at close range. Reaction Time- The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture), or to an error, when it appears. Ability to perceive and interpret information through the senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch at a level considered normal for a healthy adult. Must exhibit good balance. Maximum lifting requirement is 40 lbs.; any material of greater weight must be moved using machinery.Working Conditions: Must wear required safety equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses. Occasional outdoor exposure to hot, cold, and/or damp weather. Daily exposure to dusts, fumes, metal chips, and odors from an industrial environment.Supervision: This position does not supervise others.During initial training, the incumbent will require close supervision, with supervisor contact several times per day.
