This is your opportunity to work in a high-performance environment, maintaining and enhancing equipment that drives the production of some of the most beloved food products. *Direct-Hire/ Full-Time Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Location: Gretna, LA, US, 70053 Shift: 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm) - Enjoy a Shift Differential! Sign-On Bonus: $2,000 Salary: $25 - $33 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. What You'll Do: As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll be the first line of defense against equipment breakdowns, ensuring our production processes run smoothly and efficiently. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Diagnosing & Repairing: Tackle electrical trouble calls on production/process equipment and utility systems. You'll be diagnosing, repairing, and testing industrial equipment, including power services, motor starters, and high/low voltage electrical systems.
  • Cutting-Edge Technology: Work with advanced PLCs, HMI's, and networks (Ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, DH+, etc.), as well as electrical field devices like photo eyes, proxies, encoders, and limit switches.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Keep our production and facilities equipment in top condition with regular maintenance and perform general upkeep tasks as needed.
  • Documentation & Training: Complete work orders, document tests, and refine procedures to ensure optimal performance. Help train others to master these essential skills.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and recommend ongoing improvements.
  • Contractor Collaboration: Occasionally work with outside contractors on installations and other projects as needed.
What We're Looking For:
  • Plant Maintenance Expertise: 5+ years of experience in plant maintenance, with the ability to develop control logic, install control wiring, and troubleshoot PLC/Solid State control instruments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in the use of test equipment such as multimeters, and well-versed in Windows applications. Working knowledge of process/programmable controllers and AC/DC drives is a must.
  • Industrial Control Savvy: Experience with industrial control wiring and the ability to read and interpret instrument drawings and control schematics.
  • Physical & Schedule Flexibility: Ability to lift 70 lbs and work overtime daily and on weekends as needed. Flexibility with shift hours and workday assignments is essential to meet business needs.
