The Maintenance Technician provides technical expertise and maintains mechanical equipment such as pumps, agitators, chillers, compressors, piping, valves, switches, starters, relays, and sensors at two sites in Lynchburg, VA. In this position, you will be a critical member of our maintenance team requiring independent judgement, communication, and participation. We foster mutual respect with all involved to determine the means to accomplish implementation of desired changes for process improvement, regulatory compliance, and other various needs to support daily plant operations.Shift Hours M-F 2:00pm to 10:30pmIn this role you will be responsible for the following:Conduct, develop and maintain records for installation, removal, and troubleshooting of systems (Pumps, Piping, Valves, Pneumatics, Motor Starters, Wiring logic, etc.)Mechanical (pneumatic/hydraulic, power transmission, lubrication, seals, joints, fasteners), Electrical (wiring, contactors, relays), and Electronic (sensors, instrumentation, hardware) skills will be utilized to maintain a continuous stream of production through installation, commissioning, removal, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipmentDiagnose and correct problems/issues through inspections and testingExecute preventative, calibration, and predictive maintenance schedulesRespond to reactive and corrective maintenance requestsUse tools including common hand tools, power tools, lifting tools, precision measuring tools, and electronic test gearAssist in system development, improvement, and designDevelop or interpret drawings of existing systems when necessary to assist in troubleshooting and installationWork as a part of a maintenance team to accomplish maximum equipment uptimeAs an independent self-starter, understand changing priorities, and focus energies appropriatelyHelp direct contractors to execute other scheduled workUtilize Process Safety Management for hazardous environments in day-to-day operationsAbility to work overtime and weekend work when neededPerform other duties as assigned or as business needs require to the best of your abilityPerform quality work within guidelines, deadlines, and processes with or without direct supervisionInteract professionally with other peopleWork effectively as a team contributor on all assignmentsWork independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizationsRequirements:High School Diploma / GED with Tradesman or equivalent experience; prefer an Associate Degree within a STEM related field with maintenance experienceCritical thinking (troubleshooting) experienceAbility to Develop and read various P&ID typesKnowledge of Mechanical and Piping Systems, Electrical Devices, and Test EquipmentFamiliarity with CMMS, Predictive Maintenance Techniques, Continuous Improvement Programs, and Root Cause AnalysisGood computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office productsGood organization skills and attention to detailSolid interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsAble to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high pressure time critical environment, and change priorities based on needsAble to work effectively independently and as part of a teamStrong safety mindset with independent work ethicLeadership skills with the ability to manage and direct teamsAble to work overtime, including weekends, when requiredMay be required to lift/move up to 50 lbs.Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoorsIndividual may be required to handle hazardous and non-hazardous materialsIndividual may be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment such as: Respirators, FR Clothing, Chemical Resistant Gloves, Hard Hat, Safety Eyewear, Face shield, etc.Ability work closely with chemicals or bio-substances found in laboratory or production facilitiesICP Group is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
