Job Type Full-timeDescriptionGENERAL SUMMARY:A multi-skilled position responsible for the operation and quality control of all the Milling equipment and processing systems required in the process of making several different types of mustard. This person should be production oriented, educated in food safety defense, good leadership skills, and willing to work closely with other Milling team members. Operate all milling systems including the Yellow System, the Brown System, the screener, the Cook Processing vessel and the Cooling Vessel. Mix batches of raw materials into slurry for mustard processing. Weigh and mix additional ingredients into milled mustard to produce specialty mustards.RequirementsSCOPE OF JOB FUNCTION
  • Start-up and shutdown of Milling equipment following Safety, Quality, and Production guidelines.
  • Set up materials and equipment to be used in daily milling
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation following all guidelines
  • Perform quality checks such as, mustard viscosity, PH (CCP #1), temperature control, and etc.
  • Keep accurate production and quality records
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the Milling area
  • Participate as an active member of the Production Team
  • Participate in Quality and Productivity improvement efforts
  • Work closely with Material Handler to ensure FIFO is followed
  • Follow all written and verbal Milling production priorities for the day and week
  • Monitor and turn in all production and quality sheets for the shift
  • Turn in all Quality samples
  • Clean and sanitize totes as needed
  • Document duties as scheduled in the computer based system
  • Monitor materials in use to ensure productivity and quality requirements are maintained
  • Maintain materials as needed to ensure safe and productive work area
  • Participate as an active member of the Production Team
  • Follow all written and verbal Milling production instructions and priorities
  • Inform Production Manager of any production, quality, safety, or personnel issues
  • Assist in finding coverage for shift to fill in for absences and vacations
  • A good working and communication relationship with co-workers, warehouse personnel, the Production Supervisor and Manager
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Effective verbal, listening, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with other departments in the company
  • Ability to work off shifts, weekends, and holidays if required
  • Self- directed
  • Good attendance
DESIRED:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment and practices.
