Job DetailsJob Location Old Dutch Foods Inc - Roseville, MN Job Shift 2nd Shift DescriptionOld Dutch Foods Inc.Packaging Machine Operator - 2nd Shift Location: Old Dutch Foods - Roseville, MN Hours: 1:45 PM - 10:00 PM Days: Monday - Friday The Packaging Operator is responsible for maintaining the quality and output quantity of the packaging machinery. This includes set-up, changeovers, shutdown, cleaning, and drain. Maintains operating efficiency, performs basic repair and adjustments, minor troubleshooting. Properly retrieves and return needed film, folding cartons, seasoning, and other supplies, perform scheduled Quality Assurance (QA) checks. Job Duties:
Assure that the packaging machines are running at set quantity and proper quality specifications. Setup, complete changeovers, shut down and/or drain the packaging machines according to the production schedule. Perform minor maintenance and repair work to keep the packaging equipment running. Report problems to supervisor that cannot be repaired within 10 minutes. Keep machinery and staging areas supplied with supplies i.e., film, seasoning powder, stickers, change-over parts. Assist other PMO's as needed to maintain production needs. Keep a log for each machine, recording all machine downtime. Maintain minimum downtime and material waste. Perform cleaning of equipment to proper specification necessary for changeovers and end of week. Perform all quality checks and record data as required. Continuously monitor packaging machines. Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor. Keeps work area neat and clean. Job Qualifications:
- Experience with packaging machinery and in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with form, fill, and seal machinery
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and follow schedules
- Capable of setting up and running packaging equipment
- Ability to work respectfully as a team member under pressure
- Experience with sanitation practices and maintaining clean, safe environments
- Experience in cleaning or sanitizing machines and equipment
Essential job functions:
Ability to operate and maintain packaging machines with limited down time to company specifications. Able to make minor repairs and/or adjustments quickly and safely. Able to clearly explain problems or at least explain the symptoms to co-operators and/or maintenance personnel or supervisor(s). Maneuver around machinery 100% of the workday. Climb ladders/stairs as needed throughout the day. Lift heavy, even, or uneven loads weighing up to 64 pounds. Bend or squat 25-50% of the workday. Work in awkward or tight work areas. Maneuver cautiously on slippery floors surfaces. Work on elevated platforms. Work in hot, humid, cold, noisy, wet, and odorous environment. Use hands and arms outstretched from body or overhead. Hear and communicate respectfully with others in noise, to ensure quality and safety. Successfully completes the safety training and adheres to the requirements. Work up to 40 hours per week or more if needed. Must have dependable attendance. Must be willing and able to work as a team. Work safely with and trouble-shoot moving machinery.
