DC-AllianceSeasonal role in the DCs. Helps coordinate daily work volume and staffing to help achieve departmental objectives in production, quality, and safety.Major ActivitiesCommunicates with the Coach and Operations Manager to ensure daily operational goals are met through effective management of people and process. Identifies and foresees issues and works to resolve them appropriately as they arise. Assigns and realigns work, particularly in the absence of the Coach. Duties may include allocation of work assignments, planning and releasing of waves, coordination of the toting process, coordinating the completion of route codes, reassignment of team members to other roles, etc. Partners with trainers and trainees on training/development plans and documents. Supports workplace safety by helping to ensure safety-related rules and policies are observed (e.g., use of PPE, proper housekeeping, etc.). Supports start of shift and end of shift activities/reporting, including shift recaps, production logs, and shift handoffs. Performs the department's work as necessary. Participates in special projects and performs other related duties as assigned. Other duties as assignedMinimum Special Certifications or Technical SkillsDemonstrates computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the systems supporting department functionsMinimum Type of Experience the Job RequiresPrevious experience in a Material Handler role (or comparable role), demonstrating an understanding of warehouse operations in a distribution center environmentOtherUnderstands the processes and policies related to the department and is regarded by team members as credible and capable of performing the duties performed in the department Demonstrates effective decision-making skills to provide appropriate direction to others and respond effectively to changing business requirementsGood interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing/emailGood listening skills to understand issues thoroughly Good organizational skills and time management abilities to help meet production timeframes/objectivesMust be able to work a flexible schedule to provide direction to the department as necessaryPreferred EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional related training/education is a plusPhysical RequirementsFrequent lifting and carrying of product weighing 5 to 60 poundsFrequent pushing or pulling of material and/or equipmentFrequent standing when working and when driving powered industrial equipmentFrequent walking, primarily in the warehouseRegular reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and twistingRepetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingersWork EnvironmentExposure to extreme temperatures dependent on external climate and proximity to dock doors/exitsModerate noise level from DC conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipmentOccasional vibration if/when operating powered industrial equipmentPotential exposure to fumes and airborne particlesApplicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.
