Production Supervisor 2nd Shift Assembly - Grand Rapids DISHER is currently partnered with a manufacturer of innovative seating solutions company that is looking for a Production Supervisor 2nd Shift in the Assembly Department. This company makes seats for Mass Transit, Light Rail, Motorcoach, and Securement. If you have ever ridden a bus, sat at a desk, enjoyed a performance, or been to a ballpark, you have sat on one of their products! In this role, you will be responsible for directing manufacturing operations to achieve on time orders and production requirements.     • Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities, preparing build schedules and outlining duties
    • Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees within assigned department
    • Monitors the work of employees for quality, quantity, and safety, providing feedback and coaching when needed
    • Work with teams to drive continuous improvement needs by using good problem-solving practices
    • Attend production, manning, and other meetings as required
    • Assure the administration of and compliance with the union contract within assigned realm of influence
    • Administer discipline as needed in conjunction with the Human Resource Department
What will make you successful:
    • Associates degree in Manufacturing or related area
    • Prior supervisory/leadership experience
    • 2-4 years of work experience in manufacturing
    • Experience working in a union environment a plus
    • General business knowledge of planning, scheduling, finance, and human resources
    • Knowledge of manufacturing, machinery, and product
    • Knowledge of safety requirements and general laws
    • Familiarity with MRP systems
