  • Conducts requested visual & physical testing / inspections per specified standards with final judgements to ensure quality control of parts / finished products / calibration fixtures.
  • Uses design drawings, product standards, work instructions, etc., as needed to determine the appropriate inspection processes and judgment criteria to apply in all inspection functions.
  • Use of PC's and other office electronics in the collection, analysis and reporting of inspection information & data results.
  • Obtains the necessary knowledge and skills to utilize all available testing / inspection equipment, instruments, and tools available in the QA lab, as well as the required application of those items in the specific testing / inspection of all parts & products.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness inside the Lab area and tracking of all existing facilities, equipment, documentation assets.
  • Support in the security, inventory management and organization and cleanliness of the QA Hold Cage area.
  • Supports the training of other QA staff in the use and correct applications of all QA Lab testing & inspection equipment / instruments.
  • Other duties as specified when needed by the shift QA SV or QA management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and equipment, specifically operation and measurement applications on the CMM 3-D measurement machine.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment & assembly processes.
  • Ability to read, understand product design, manufacturing control plans & other technical documents.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Word or similar software to prepare data reports.
Education and Experience:High School diploma required.Associate degree or equivalent technical certification preferred.3- 5 years OJT for use in CMM or similar 3-D measurement device.Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working with equipment & instruments.Must be able to traverse production facility to conduct inspections as needed.Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds at a time, multiple times per day.Must have the physical ability to operate required equipment and instruments.Ability to work 40-50 hours a week when overtime is required.Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE)-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities At Astemo, we're challenging the status quo with the power of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
