QUALITY INSPECTOR 2
(Must have Previous Quality Experience)
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for all aspects in the Inspection of metal forming production, fabrication shop and assembly. The level II Inspector will be required to safely and efficiently execute assigned work in timely manner, meet quality standards and rates. Also expected to promote and conform to company's regulations and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes, but may not be limited to the following:
- Quality inspector inspects in-process production metal stampings, fabrication and/or assembly per assigned task.
- Quality inspector documents actual findings utilizing computer system.
- Quality inspector performs visual inspection of welded, sanded, notched and tumbled components per customer specification.
- Quality inspector inspects for defects and cosmetic issues.
- Quality inspector takes the appropriate action to report defects and work with teams to correct.
- Quality Inspector prepares First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
- Quality inspector maintains work flow with no or minimum interruptions.
- Quality inspector performs set-up inspection and approval for Generic Production Items.
- Quality inspector performs set-up inspection and approval for medical and other complex products.
- Quality inspector assists in performing receiving inspections, to include verification of Certificates of Conformance for correctness; Verification of Certificates of Analysis for correct data, within specifications; Perform inspections, based on provided check sheets.
- Quality inspector performs inspections from the Technical Drawings, only.
- Quality inspector assists Engineering and Tool Shop with problem solving functions such as performing inspections of significant size and reporting findings accurately from inspections.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED from an Accredited Institution of higher learning
- Able to utilize micrometers, calipers, drop gages, dial indicators
- Able to use Rockwell Test Equipment, Optical Comparator
- Able to operate a Video Inspection Equipment
- Able to read and understand technical drawings (blue prints) for indicated dimensions
- Experience with GMT preferred
- Proficient in mathematics
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Problem-solving, critical thinking and organization skills
