2ND SHIFT - WELDER FITTER I - DHP

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components to assemble structural forms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Interpret fabrication drawings to the extent necessary to utilize proper welding materials and techniques

* Select equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.

* Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, TIG and MIG welders, or gas & acetylene cutting torches.

* Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.

* Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure for welding.

* Properly cut, fit, weld components and structures in compliance with company and API standards.

* Preparing surfaces to be brazed, often by cleaning and ensuring they fit tightly together.

* Applying heat using a torch, furnace, or other heating method.

* Applying the filler metal, ensuring it flows into the joint.

* Controlling temperature so the filler melts but the base metals remain solid.

* Verify workmanship standards in relation to size, location and quality.

* Maintain and care for materials, consumables, equipment and hand tools, and cleanliness of components assigned to respective work area.

* Perform other duties as assigned

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:

Regardless of other duties, a Welder/Fitter has a responsibility to follow Don-Nan production, safety, and quality procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Education and Training:

* High School education or equivalent or as deemed sufficient by management

* Technical Requirements:

* Certified forklift operator

* Must pass company's welding and fitting qualification test

* Ability to use measurement and cutting devices

* Experience:

* At least five years' experience, or as deemed sufficient by management

WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is on 2nd shift. Standard work hours are Monday - Thursday from 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM. Ability to work overtime on Friday will be required.
