Our 3D Printing Production Manager will oversee our factory that manufactures our Dopl miniatures. They will organize, manage, and optimize the entire end-to-end process flow including receipt of final digital models, creation of production builds, breakout from 3D printers, careful post-processing of each product, and the documentation, packaging & shipping of the final miniature.
Dopl is growing quickly, and a critical aspect of the 3D Printing Production Manager role will be the day-to-day management of our increasing volume of orders. They must understand order statuses, as well as how to prioritize VIPs and customer care orders. The 3D Printing Production Manager will be responsible for growing their team as our volumes increase.
The right person for this role will have a unique balance of skill sets that allows them to manage the unique artistic elements of our product, the 3D printing technical requirements, and the operational aspects of the role.
They will have a keen eye for detail, ensuring the final product meets the high quality standards for our product. They will have a strong understanding of the technical nature of our 3D printers, managing the machine care and maintenance by their technicians. And the role requires a strong organizational and process skills, managing material & parts inventory and overall factory maintenance.
The 3D Printing Production Manager will work closely with the entire leadership team to ensure alignment between product deliverables, overall expectations, and long-term goals. On a day-to-day basis, they will work closely with the 3D Data Manager, Retail Director, customer service, and key suppliers. This position will report directly to the Operations Director and the CEO.
Skills, Qualities and Relevant Experience:
4+ years experience in a project or production management role
Engineering background with interest in working with 3D printers.
Bachelors degree from 4-year college, preferably in engineering
Excellent communication skills, able to give direct feedback and coaching.
Able to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize responsibilities.
Have a strong attention to detail.
Constantly looking to improve current processes.
Interdisciplinary thinker who can flex between highly creative and highly technical.
Proficiency handling small, delicate objects. Enjoys working with their hands, tinkering, & thinking about the big picture.
Basic understanding of 3D modeling software a plus.
Hardworking, enthusiastic, and intellectually curious.
