Guaranteed Hours: Full-Time (36 hours per week) Experience: Minimum one year of experience working in a Med/Surg environment License: RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Competency in delivering care and patient-family education for adults, adolescents, and geriatric populations Job Description: - Utilize nursing theory, technical expertise, and communication skills to provide high-quality and compassionate care to patients and families. - Assess patient and family needs through active listening and observation; analyze data obtained through direct assessment and health team communication. - Develop an individualized plan of care addressing the nature and scope of health problems in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and interdisciplinary team. - Set goals and monitor patient progress, adjusting care plans based on patient response or changes in condition. - Advocate for the health, safety, and rights of the patient. - Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. - Conduct comprehensive patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. - Evaluate and document the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, implementing changes as needed. - Engage in professional development and self-evaluation, taking accountability for enhancing skills and knowledge. - Create a meaningful connection with patients and families, emphasizing the importance of a healing environment. - Apply interventions, including medication administration, with skill and competency. - Understand personal responsibility to ensure public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies. - Recognize the importance of being present, listening, communicating, engaging, and anticipating patient and family needs.
