Are you with us?!?POSITION SUMMARYManage all plant operations to ensure safety, quality and productivity targets are achieved. Foster positive work environment through employee engagement efforts.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Follow, support, develop and implement site safety practices as appropriate. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate safety requirements. Follow, support, develop and implement practices and procedures to fully comply with all environmental regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement efforts and processes Ensure product quality requirements are met. Provide leadership, direction, supervision, guidance and support of subordinates to foster positive relationships. Establish site operating goals, objectives and execute plans to meet these goals. Monitors and evaluates operations results. Develops continuous improvement plans. Coordinates with Scheduling, Sales Department, Quality and Engineering to ensure customer and production standards and goals are met. Supervises day-to-day departmental operations, assigns people and controls costs. Completes timesheets and other payroll activities to ensure accurate timekeeping for payroll purposes through the company's HRIS/payroll system. Manages time off and absences of subordinates in conjunction with the Vacation Policy and Getting Along at Ahlstrom Policies, respectively. Regularly report, as required, to site and product line management. Remains current with new equipment / chemicals / processes / procedures to assist in continual improvement of safety, environmental impact, quality, and productivity. Interprets and enforces company policies, rules, union contract, and safety regulations. Assists in establishing policies, rules, and regulations. Analyzes and resolves work-related problems or assists subordinates in solving work-related problems. Performs such individual assignments as directed; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the corporation; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the operations department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the operations department. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to work 'off shift' as needed during emergencies and/or special production circumstances.SHARED FUNCTIONS With engineering, execute preventative maintenance strategies and develop and execute equipment improvement strategies. With engineering, develop and implement capital budget plans. Support sales, technical and other departments in implementing various projects. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Associate or Bachelor's degree (PSE, CE, ME, EE) required with 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Good written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills On call availability, nights and weekends Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet goals and deadlines.
