JOB DESCRIPTION: 3rd Shift Contact Person
OB SUMMARY: The 3rd shift contact person shall be responsible for remaining on-site during scheduled hours, alert, and available to contact the appropriate authorities, including the assisted living program administrator, in the event of an emergency involving a resident or the building as a whole.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintains good communication with the Program Administrator.
- Maintains a professional relationship with all residents.
- Maintains confidentiality of verbal and written information about residents, facility operations, and other personnel.
- Maintains residents' privacy and dignity.
- Encourages residents to maintain their independence.
- Has a complete understanding of fire, emergency, and safety procedures.
- Adheres to policies and procedures, and standards regarding infection control.
- Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety of oxygen used by residents.
- Ensure the company cell phone is on a person or within hearing distance, charged & turned on at all times during the shift.
- Use a company cell phone for company use only and not for personal calls.
- Answer calls and refers any non-emergency concerns to the Administrator the following morning.
- Answer emergency calls from the Assisted Living Program residents, immediately call 911, and then the Program Administrator or designee.
- When calling 911, please give them the resident's name, apartment number & explanation of the emergency.
- Give emergency packets with resident information to emergency personnel.
- Make a note in the Logbook regarding the emergency call.
- The next day, verbally reports the situation to the certified staff, relieving you of your duties.
- Clean nursing office, including bathroom daily & empty trash.
- Responsible for completing assigned laundry, including folding clothes.
- I was shredding as requested by the Administrator.
- If unable to work a scheduled shift, the employee should notify the Administrator at least by 6 p.m. so coverage can be arranged.
- Abides by established guidelines of the facility and governing regulations.
- Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the Program Administrator.
