Direct Support Professionals provide therapeutic and educational services to children, adolescents and young adults with developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances. The position requires continuous supervision of clients while they engage in their daily living activities. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the types of behaviors typical of individuals with emotional and developmental disabilities.As a
Direct Support Professional, you will:
- Provides supervision, coaching, modeling, engagement, and support of students in living, activity, school and community settings.
- Instructs, organizes, and assists students with carrying out daily living activities, recreational activities, developing self-care skills (health/hygiene), and schoolwork and/or homework.
- May provide transportation as requested to and from appointments and visits.
- May be responsible for completing medication administration and/or assisting students with meal planning and preparation, laundry, and daily housekeeping.

Qualifications:- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science field preferred
- Demonstrated ability or potential to work with individuals with special needs in a therapeutic and supportive environment required
- Experience in residential treatment or working with individuals with special needs preferred. Age 21 or older required
- Must be able to pass a national background Check
