Job Summary:

Leads workers engaged in machine operating to produce plastic injection molded products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Requisitions material required to meet production goals.

* Examines items produced to determine if items meet specifications.

* Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

* Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

* Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.

* Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

* Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

* Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

* Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.

* Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

* Maintains time and production records.

* Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

* Sets up machines and equipment.

* Performs activities of workers supervised.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. FORKLIFT CERITIFCATION REQUIRED.

Other Skills

* Knowledge of Microsoft Applications Word Processing software.

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly leads 5 to 10 Molding Technicians on first, second, or third shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
