About This Role Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. As a machine operator in Post Harvest, you may have the opportunity to operate several different pieces of equipment that help us process and package cannabis in a very efficient manner. Responsibilities Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Operate machinery and support changeover by cleaning and staging the equipment and hot swap kits.
  • Identify and trouble shoot minor issues by using root cause analysis
  • Utilizing digital trackers to upload pitch and batch numbers
  • Aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving
  • Minor adjustments and fixes to the equipment
  • Identify and communicate problems to Lead such as defects in the cannabis material, problems with the equipment, any weight discrepancies, etc. that may have a negative impact quality or production value.
  • Ensure sanitation standards are followed with respect to process equipment maintenance
  • Accountable for quality control checks (Leader Standard Work) to ensure process and product quality align with company standards
  • Ensure Citizens maintain a clean and tidy workspace (5-S Standard)
  • Collaborate with all Citizens on improving daily tasks, proper training, and provide process audits with a passion for Continuous Improvement
  • Communicate with clarity and consistency to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere
The Experience You Bring and the Skills we Need:
  • Must have at least 1 year (2-3 years preferable) of hands-on experience in a factory, production, or fast-paced manufacturing environment with measurable goals and working standards.
  • Ability to measure, package, and label in a precise manner.
  • Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of basic MS Office, METRC, and cannabis inventory management programs (Leaf Logix, Biotech THC, MJ Freeway, Lucid) is a plus.
  • Efficient cultivation/production work ethic with application of Lean tools.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and hold themselves accountable to Standards of Work.
  • Solid communication and documentation skills.
  • Problem solving skills
  • This is a dynamic team, and as such daily tasks may vary, resulting in a fast paced and lively work environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time
  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a greenhouse environment (tolerance of heat & humidity)
