Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and nine to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Up to 3 years of experience in Quality Control function in manufacturing environment.
  • Quality Systems awareness.

We pursue continuous improvement through innovation, technology, and people.Position RequirementsSUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: Employee will inspect materials and products, such as bar stock, first piece and completed parts for conformance to customer specifications. Conducts Quality Assurance audits of production cells assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Will also consult with management to resolve quality, production and efficiency problems. Functions as an information source to machinists and various company departments when special and critical quality issues occur. May also assist the Quality Manager on special department projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Examine material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, scratches and incomplete machined surfaces.
  • Verify specified dimensions of product or material.
  • Reject defective parts, and mark type of defect on router, container of parts, and inspection tag.
  • Prepare all necessary customer required product supporting documentation such as PPAP, C of C, FAR, etc.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Select products for tests at specified stages in the production process, and tests for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical characteristics.
  • Inspect products using gauges, coordinate measuring machine, hand tools, and vision prior to shipment.
  • Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments.
  • Accept responsibility of training and preparing new employees for this position.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
  • Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Time management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Experience dealing with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer proficient.
