Job SummaryPurdue University seeks a dynamic and innovative professional to provide statewide support and leadership in 4-H club delivery and the 4-H recognition model. In this role, you will work in collaboration with the 15 state 4-H staff members who support area and county 4-H staff members who deliver the 4-H program at the county level.
What You'll Be Doing: - Developing and updating continually policies and procedures regarding chartering and oversight of 4-H clubs in the state of Indiana
- Providing leadership in the state on how to charter, initiate, and manage 4-H Clubs and affiliates, including Club manuals and trainings
- Providing leadership to Indiana 4-H staff, volunteers, and academics on how to foster a welcoming environment to all youth in the 4-H clubs and other delivery models
- Supporting educators in the process of annual club management process
- Supporting educators and other partners to ensure pathways exist for first generation 4-H'ers to have a 4-H Club experience
- Serving as the subject matter specialist for 4-H curriculum design and development and the 4-H recognition process
- Ensuring Indiana 4-H remains relevant in its recognition models including 4-H Scholarships, 4-H project exhibitions, and other applicable competitive processes
- Developing and leading the process of training, certifying, and retaining judges (evaluators) of 4-H project exhibitions for use at county and state levels
- Developing and leading the process for National 4-H Congress chaperones and delegates
- Developing and leading the process for National 4-H Conference chaperones and delegates
- Developing and leading a rotational leadership model to ensure success of recognition at the Indiana State Fair
- Serving as project manager for 4-H curriculum committees analyzing, designing, and developing 4-H curricula for use at statewide or national levels
- Other duties as assigned to support the overall mission success of the Indiana 4-H program
What We're Looking For: - Master's degree
- 4 years of experience in operations, project management and in data analysis and reporting
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to supervise geographically dispersed, remote staff
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple competing interests, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
- Advanced computer and related-software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, outlook, Internet, etc. (including Project and/or Teams)
- Ability to lead others and provide direction and constructive feedback
- Supervisory and management skills
Nice to Have: - Experience with youth development, extension or another industry in a similar area
